Ordinary Time of the Year
After the feast of the Baptism of Jesus the Church reverts to the ordinary time of the year, until Lent begins. During this time the readings are taken from the Gospel of Matthew on Sundays and from the gospel of Mark during the week. The readings tell us of the beginning of Jesus' ministry in Galilee and his calling of the first disciples.
