Can you drink the Cup?

The cup, a powerful image in the human experience, a symbol used to celebrate a wide range of human endeavors, becomes for Nouwen a doorway opening on the spiritual horizon.  "Drinking the cup to the bottom is seen as the expression of the full freedom of the sons and daughters of God", he writes.
